The fifth edition of the GCC Petroleum Media Forum was hosted by Oman in Salalah, a picturesque city in southern Oman.
The event took place under the auspices of Mohsen bin Hamad Al-Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals in Oman.
The forum was organized by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and supported by the GCC General Secretariat.

The inaugural GCC Petroleum Media Forum took place in Kuwait in March 2013.
