Sheikh Zayed Festival celebrated the New Year 2025 by launching one hundred thousand sustainable balloons.
Each balloon carried a thousand seeds, creating a magnificent scene in the sky of Al Wathba to enrich the vegetation cover in Abu Dhabi.
The festival management emphasized that this initiative embodies a message of hope and renewal.
It is supporting the spirit of sustainable innovation towards a greener future.
Besides that it raises community awareness about the importance of preserving nature and supporting vegetation cover.
Enhancing environmental and cultural diversity as one of the core values of Emirati society, passing it proudly to future generations.
Sheikh Zayed Festival Sustainable Celebration of New Year’s Eve
The sky of Al Wathba was adorned with the joyful colors of balloons.
Those balloons carried seeds of trees and flowers adapted to the local environment.
Such as Ghaf, Samur, and desert plants.
The balloons were made from biodegradable materials, such as 100% natural latex derived from natural gum.
Ensuring they decompose safely after use without leaving any residues that affect the environment.
Additionally, they are filled and packaged sustainably.
This contributes to reducing the carbon footprint and supports environmental conservation efforts.
As they dissolve upon landing, becoming part of the natural life cycle.
