His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, today received H.E Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, who is paying a state visit to the UAE.
A formal welcome ceremony was held for His Excellency upon his arrival at Qasr Al Watan in the capital, Abu Dhabi.
Moreover, His convoy was accompanied by a group of horsemen on Arabian horses.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed then accompanied His Excellency Vladimir Putin to the platform of honor.
Where the national anthems of the UAE and the Russian Federation were played.
The artillery fired 21 rounds in welcome of His Excellency’s visit.
When His Excellency’s convoy arrived at the palace, the UAE National Aerobatics Team, “Emirates Knights,” flew over the palace, forming a tableau of the Russian Federation flag.
The Russian President’s plane was accompanied by a number of fighter jets as it entered the airspace of the UAE as a tribute to the guest of the country.

While the Russian President is accompanied by a delegation that includes a number of ministers and senior officials.
In fact, the visit of H.E Vladimir Putin to the UAE is the first visit by a Russian President to the country since 2007.
The visit is expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.
Including trade, investment, energy, and security.
