Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Education and HR Council, stressed the following:
The role of teachers in achieving positive change is not limited to transferring academic knowledge.
But their role extends to building strong and balanced personalities.
As well as developing critical thinking and creative skills among students in different stages of their studies.
This came during His Highness meeting with the Council members via video communication.
Moreover, the meeting was attended by many members including H.H Sheikha Maryam bint Mohammed bin Zayed, President of the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation and Vice-President of the Education and HR Council and Chairperson of the National Center for Education Quality.
–Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Balhol Al Falasi, Minister of Education.
-Her Excellency Shamma bint Sohail bin Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Community Development and Secretary-General of the Council.
-Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmanan Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
-Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri, Minister of State for General Education and Advanced Technology and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Schools for Advanced Education.
-Sarah Owais Eisa Muslim, Minister of State for Early Childhood Education.
-Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al Karam, Director-General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai.
-Dr. Muhaddat Yahya Al Hashimi, Director-General of the Sharjah Private Education Authority.
The Council discussed a number of topics, the most important of which was the emphasis on the importance of the role of the teacher.
Because teachers are the basic block in building an effective educational process that keeps pace with global developments in the field of education.
In the beginning of the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said:
“In a rapidly changing and developing world, the vital role of teachers is invaluable.
They are the driving force behind the development and progress of our education system.
Also they are the basic builders of future generations.
They lay the foundation for educating and developing youth in different stages of their studies.”
His Highness added:
“The real development of the education sector depends on attracting and retaining the expertise of the sons and daughters of the country in the field of education.
Other efforts will not be sufficient to achieve the desired educational success, without enabling them to perform an outstanding and effective experience. ”
For her part, Her Highness Sheikha Maryam bint Mohammed bin Zayed said:
“Teachers are the builders of the present and future generations.
And Motivating them to continuously develop their skills enhances their role as positive inspiring mentors for children and youth, who are the hope of the future.”
Also, she emphasized the importance of enhancing the status of the teacher as a key player in the education process.
Besides providing the necessary means and resources so they can develop innovative teaching strategies that meet the diverse needs of students.
And keep pace with national aspirations.
The Council reviewed a number of topics on the agenda, which dealt with the axes of the educational process.
Especially the policies, programs and systems related to teachers.
Dr. Ahmed Al Balhol Al Falasi, Minister of Education, presented a plan to develop the teacher’s license system.
Which targets all workers in the public and private education sector (from teachers, school leaders and school professionals).
For her part, Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri presented the policy project for applying the teacher’s license in government schools.
Pointing out that the institution is working to apply the license to all cadres as a basic condition for practicing the teaching profession in the state.
She confirmed that they might develop plans and programs for all educational cadres who have not applied for the license.
In accordance with their commitments and the nature of their work, which were discussed during the meeting.
She pointed out that the Emirates Schools for Advanced Education is seeking to adopt the best standards.
As well as the best specifications in selecting applicants to work in the teaching professions in the government education sector.
Through updating the employment conditions and human resources policies in line with leading countries in this field.
