Today, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, met with Mr. Antony Blinken, the U.S. Secretary of State.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the International Conference for Emergency Humanitarian Response in Gaza.
During the meeting, both sides discussed a number of issues related to the conference’s agenda.
The discussion included particular focus on regional and international diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire and protect civilian lives in Gaza Strip.
Details discussed in the meeting between His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken:
- Developments in the Middle East region, particularly in the Gaza Strip and their humanitarian and security implications.
- Efforts to achieve a sustainable ceasefire and ways to maintain regional and international peace and security.
- The significant challenges facing the region and the necessity of intensifying regional and international efforts supporting a comprehensive peace process based on the “two-state solution.”
- The importance of working towards a sustainable ceasefire to prevent the expansion of conflict in the region.
And also to end the escalating extremism, tension, and violence. - Protecting civilian lives and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza Strip through safe corridors, unimpeded and intensively.
- Supporting regional and global peace and stability and building bridges of cooperation with various countries to achieve development and prosperity for the peoples.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed praised the ceasefire proposals of U.S. President Joe Biden, which led to the adoption of Washington drafted resolution by the United Nations Security Council.
In addition, he emphasized the importance of dealing seriously and positively with these efforts to alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis.”
He also reaffirmed the UAE’s steadfast approach to supporting peace and stability.
