Record-Breaking Passenger Numbers at Ras Al Khaimah Airport

The Department of Civil Aviation announced a notable increase in operations at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport in 2024.
It recorded significant growth in passenger traffic, cargo handling, and aircraft movement compared to the previous year.

According to the airport’s 2024 performance report, a record-breaking 661,765 passengers were served.
Marking a 28% increase from 2023 and nearly double the number of passengers in 2022.

This surge is attributed to factors such as the expansion of airline services, serving new destinations, and a general recovery in travel demand.

The number of departing passengers also witnessed a remarkable 39% increase from the previous year, reaching a total of 293,815 travelers.

Exceptional Cargo Growth

Cargo operations at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport experienced an extraordinary 97% increase in 2024.
With 6,652 tons of cargo handled.

This growth exceeded 2024 projections by 190%, highlighting the airport’s growing importance in global supply chains.
Especially with the expansion of e-commerce and logistics operations.

The enhanced cargo capabilities, including adding cargo operations by Fly Vaya, contributed significantly to the airport’s value-added operations.

Increase in Aircraft Movement

The airport recorded a strong 21.3% rise in aircraft movements, with 7,440 flights in 2024.
This increase reflects improved air connectivity as more airlines increased frequencies on existing routes or introduced new routes.

The growth in aircraft activity aligns with the rise in passenger and cargo traffic.
Showcasing efficient utilization of the airport’s infrastructure and services.

In mid-2024, Ras Al Khaimah International Airport introduced Gulf currency exchange services at both departure and arrival terminals.
Adding significant value for travelers.
Additionally, the airport welcomed three new charter airlines:

  • Ural Airlines (Russia)
  • Enter Air (Poland)
  • HiSky (Romania)

These partnerships further strengthened the airport’s connectivity with international markets.

Ras Al Khaimah International Airport is growing as a key player in regional and global aviation.
