UAE Leads Solar Energy Growth in the Middle East
A new solar energy forecast report for 2025 has revealed that the UAE is spearheading the rapid growth of the solar energy sector in the Middle East.
Driven by initiatives such as the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050.
This revelation came at the conclusion of the World Future Energy Summit, a three-day event held as part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025.
The summit saw record attendance from experts and specialists.
Its final day featured extensive discussions on sustainable cities, green financing, and the launch of 2025 Solar Energy Forecast report.
In addition to the Green Hydrogen Summit and the Zayed Sustainability Prize Forum.
Solar Energy Forecast
The Middle East Solar Industry Association is a leading non-profit organization specializing in developing solar energy solutions in the region.
It released a comprehensive new report highlighting the unprecedented achievements in the region’s solar energy sector.
The report confirmed that the UAE is leading the rapid growth of the solar energy sector in the Middle East.
Emirati initiatives like Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 aims to generate 75% of Dubai’s energy from clean sources by 2050.
While Abu Dhabi’s 2030 vision aims to generate 30% of its energy from renewable sources within five years.

The report indicates that North Africa will fill the gap in solar energy sector growth.
Making the region a global model for solar energy.
It explained that the share of solar energy in the region’s energy mix has grown significantly.
Due to the rapid technological advancements, government support, and growing private sector investment.
2025 Solar Energy Forecast report highlights the rapid expansion of the solar energy sector in the Middle East and North Africa.
Currently accounting for 2% of the region’s total energy mix.
The region’s installed solar capacity grew by 23% in 2023, reaching 32 gigawatts peak, with expectations to exceed 180 gigawatts peak by 2030.
