Today, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, President of the United Arab Emirates, received Fumio Kishida, the Prime Minister of Japan, who is on an official visit to the UAE.
A formal reception ceremony was held for the Prime Minister of Japan upon his arrival at Qasr Al Watan-Abu Dhabi.
During the ceremony, artillery fired 21 gun salutes, and a line of honor guards stood to greet him.
Also, a group of children also stood waving the flags of the two countries and chanting welcoming phrases.
Beside that, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed accompanied H.E Fumio Kishida to the podium of honor.
Also, both countries national anthems were played at the podium of honor.
Our President and Fumio Kishida discussed ways to develop cooperation and expand it into broader horizons in various fields.
Also, the two sides reviewed the diverse components of constructive cooperation, especially in the below areas:
-Development,technology and innovation.
-Energy, economy, education and culture.
-Environmental work, resource sustainability and food security.
-As well as space sciences.
Moreover, they discussed the overall developments and regional and international issues of common interest to the two countries.
Also they emphasized the importance of strengthening dialogue, understanding, and diplomatic solutions.
Since both the UAE and Japan aim to resolve crises and deal with common challenges in a way that preserves regional and global peace and stability.
They discussed COP28 Conference which the UAE will host at the end of this year.
Furthermore, H.E Fumio Kishida expressed that Japan will contribute qualitatively to the conference to support its desired goals.
Since that will be based on its experiences and inspiring experiences in the fields of sustainability and environmental work.
Also, The Prime Minister of Japan witnessed the exchange of MoUs’ and agreements aimed at developing the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
During the meeting at Qasr Al Watan, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister, and Isuzuaki Yoshihiko, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, exchanged six MoU and agreements, including the following:
- MoU between the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment in the UAE and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan.
- MoU between the Ministry of Economy in the UAE and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan.
- MoU between the UAE Ministry of Education and its counterpart, the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
- MoU on peaceful space activities between the UAE Space Agency and the following from Japan part:
– Japanese Cabinet Office.
– Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
– Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. - Joint statement of intent between the Ministry of Advanced Industry and Technology in the UAE and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan on the establishment of an accelerator program for energy security and industry.
- Joint statement on climate action.
In addition, the two countries announced that 23 MoUs’ and agreements had been signed between various government and private entities, covering the following sectors:
-Sustainability and renewable energy.
-Health.
-Space science and technology.
-The environment.
-Transport.
-Infrastructure.
-Industry.
As well as other vital areas, as part of the official visit of the Prime Minister of Japan to the country.
