HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, received today His Excellency Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, who is on an official visit to the country.
During their meeting at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, His Highness welcomed the Ukrainian President and his accompanying delegation to the UAE.
He expressed his hope that the visit would help advance bilateral relations across various sectors.
He also wished Ukraine and its people stability and prosperity.
President of the UAE Discusses Bilateral Relations with the President of Ukraine
The two leaders discussed various aspects of bilateral relations.
Particularly in economy, investment, development, renewable energy, and food security.
As well as other sectors that align with the development priorities of both nations.
His Highness emphasized that the UAE places great importance on building strong partnerships with friendly countries across different sectors to achieve mutual development.
Furthermore, His Highness reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to peaceful solutions to global crises.
Highlighting that development can only be achieved through stability.
He reiterated the UAE’s dedication to supporting all efforts for a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine crisis.
While continuing to mitigate its humanitarian impact.

The UAE’s Mediation Efforts
President Mohammed bin Zayed also expressed gratitude to President Zelenskyy for Ukraine’s cooperation in the UAE’s mediation efforts regarding the prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia.
He emphasized that this reflects the trust in the UAE’s diplomatic role in easing the humanitarian impact of the conflict.
For his part, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reaffirmed his commitment to expanding cooperation between Ukraine and the UAE.
Recognizing the many opportunities available across various sectors.
He also expressed his deep appreciation to His Highness for the UAE’s continuous diplomatic efforts in facilitating prisoner exchanges and its humanitarian concern for the crisis.

A New CEPA Signed in the Presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and the President of Ukraine

As it is strengthening the strategic relations between the UAE and Ukraine.

Expanding UAE-Ukraine Economic Cooperation
His Highness stated:
“We look forward to the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement serving as a transformative step in the economic and investment cooperation between our countries, benefiting their mutual development.”
He further highlighted that the UAE’s approach is built on fostering partnerships to achieve development and prosperity for all.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also underscored the significance of the agreement.
As it is expanding UAE-Ukraine economic cooperation for the benefit of both nations and their people.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony at Al Shati Palace.
By H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and H.E. Yulia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
Under the terms of the UAE and Ukraine partnership agreement:
- 99% of Ukraine’s imports from the UAE and 97% of Ukraine’s exports to the UAE will receive immediate customs duty exemptions.
- The agreement is expected to add $369 million to the UAE’s GDP and $874 million to Ukraine’s GDP by 2031.
- It will help accelerate Ukraine’s economic recovery and unlock new opportunities in sectors such as infrastructure, heavy industries, aviation, space, and information technology.
