
The UAE supports a political solution for peace in Ethiopia
The United Arab Emirates affirmed its support for a political solution and constructive dialogue in order to bring peace to Ethiopia and confirmed that it would provide five million dollars through the World Food Program and international organizations to help refugees affected by the repercussions of the humanitarian crisis.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation expressed his concern about the developments in the situation in Ethiopia, stressing the need to return to dialogue and concern for the rule of law, expressing the UAE’s solidarity with the brotherly Ethiopian people, and stressing the great link between security issues. And stability in our region and the Horn of Africa.
His Highness affirmed the United Arab Emirates’ support for a political solution and constructive dialogue in order to bring peace in Ethiopia, noting that the United Arab Emirates will provide five million dollars through the World Food Program (WFP) and international organizations to help refugees affected by the repercussions of the humanitarian crisis. His Highness also indicated the importance of adhering to the principle of non-interference in internal affairs.
New opportunities for a peaceful political solution in Ethiopia
Abdullah bin Zayed indicated that the region is witnessing new opportunities that must be built and employed, including the peace process in Sudan and South Sudan, and his Highness stressed the need for all international and regional efforts to join together to ensure the stability of the region and the pivotal role of Ethiopia in this vision, and work with the African Union and others, pointing out that the United Arab Emirates has made many contacts with partners in Africa, the region and the international community, in order to put an end to the conflict by peaceful means and avoid escalation in extremely sensitive situations.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed also indicated that the key to security and stability in Africa and the region is Ethiopia, stressing the importance of preserving the Ethiopian state institutions and the unity of the federal system.
His Highness expressed his concern about the continued human suffering in the region, and the displacement of thousands of innocent civilians, especially children, women, and the elderly, due to the recent military clashes, which threatens a rapid deterioration of the humanitarian situation.
