The UAE joins Oman, its sister nation, in celebrating the 54th National Day, marked annually on November 18.
Moreover, the UAE and Oman have deep ties and comprehensive strategic partnership at governmental and popular levels.
The strong relationship is supported by the wise leadership of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman.
Mentioning that the bond is growing stronger each year.
This occasion comes to celebrate Oman’s progress over the years, showcasing the country strong international presence.
Oman Vision 2040
Under Sultan Haitham’s leadership, Oman has reached a new era of progress.
With a great focus on achieving “Oman Vision 2040,” which aims at:
- Economy diversification
- Achieving sustainable annual economic growth of 5%
- Enhancing the average individual income by 90%
Besides other goals like establishing a high-quality education system.
In addition to fostering a robust national framework for research, innovation, and knowledge-based economic development.
UAE-Oman Ties
Economic ties between the UAE and Oman highlight their deep-rooted partnership, as seen in their growing trade relations.
In 2023, non-oil trade between the nations reached AED 51 billion, reflecting a 5% increase from 2022.
The UAE remains Oman’s largest trading partner, accounting for over 40% of Oman’s imports and 20% of its exports globally.
In April 2023, during Sultan Haitham’s visit to the UAE, the two nations signed agreements worth AED 129 billion in various sectors.
Those sectors included renewable energy, green metals, rail connectivity, digital infrastructure, and technology investments.
Culturally, the UAE and Oman share a rich heritage, with intertwined traditions, arts, and social ties.
This shared identity strengthens familial bonds and enriches the cultural landscape of both nations.
