New Operational Schedule
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has begun implementing the operational winter schedule for seasonal network for maritime transport services.
RTA aims to use big data to analyze daily passenger patterns.
And to align them with the schedules and frequencies of trips based on various seasons and events.
This initiative covers all operational maritime transport services and routes, including Dubai Ferry, abras, and Dubai Water Taxi.
RTA will adjust operating hours to match the nature of each season.
And also to accommodate the movement of the city’s residents, tourists, and visitors throughout the year.
The Business Development and Planning Department of the Public Transport Agency will update the operational schedules in coordination with RTA.
Seasonal Network For Maritime Transport Service: Flexibility and Efficiency
RTA ensures that the seasonal network for maritime transport services demonstrates flexibility and efficiency.
They base seasonal operating patterns on carefully studied plans and implement them according to precise schedules.
Following the best global practices in the field.
For the winter season, RTA has already applied this plan.
Utilizing big data that includes detailed information on maritime transport services such as:
Passenger numbers, revenues, and occupancy rates.
This data enhances service development studies and significantly improves the network’s efficiency.
Internal Algorithms
By using big data and analyzing passenger patterns, RTA has created greater flexibility in preparing and applying the seasonal network for maritime transport services.
They adopted a studied approach, including predictive analysis.
In order to assess and predict the effects of changes in schedules, trip frequencies, passenger numbers, occupancy rates, and revenues.
The project team developed internal algorithms to analyze and process big data from multiple sources.
This helped in creating a flexible operational plan for the maritime transport network.
This plan allows RTA to align future maritime transport strategies with customer needs and anticipate future passenger patterns.
