Phase 3 and Phase 4 of Dubai’s Expo 2020 roads project are now open, thanks to Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority.
In total, the two stages which include the building of bridges and roads spreading 5km and 17km separately, have come at a cost of Dhs1.3 billion.
Works finished included building connections of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street with both Expo and Al Yalayes Streets, building two flyovers on Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street at Dubai Speculation Park, and widening Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street from two to five lanes in each way.
Phase 1 and 2 of the Expo 2020 roads project saw the building of a total of 43km of new road, while work continues on the final two phases, Phase 5 and Phase 6.
Under these two phases, bridges to be built will span 4 km in length, and roads will cover 11 km in total.
The overall aim of the new Expo 2020 roads is to ensure charming traffic flow for some 25 million visitors prediction to visit the Expo 2020 site, and visitors to forthcoming projects in the area.
