Head of the State Attends the Announcement of a New AI Cooperation Framework
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, attended the announcement of AI cooperation framework between the UAE and the United States.
This was during his official visit to the U.S.
This special event was also attended by:
- Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor
- Jake Sullivan, U.S. National Security Advisor
The new AI cooperation framework emphasizes the mutual desire of both countries to deepen cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI) and related technologies.
It also underlines their commitment to developing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between their governments regarding AI.
Vast Potential of AI
Both countries recognize the vast potential of AI.
As it accelerates economic growth and makes huge transformation in education and healthcare.
In addition, AI creates new jobs, and promotes environmental sustainability.
At the same time, they are aware of the challenges and risks posed by this emerging technology and the need to ensure safeguards.
Areas of AI Collaboration between the UAE and USA
The two sides are committed to collaborating in key areas, such as:
- Promoting safe and reliable AI
- Supporting ethical research and development
- Establishing regulatory frameworks to foster AI innovation
- Enhancing cybersecurity and AI protection
- Developing AI talent
They will also work on using clean energy to power AI systems and support AI for sustainable development in developing countries.
