On National Environment Day … UAE President Pledges Support for Climate Action
On the occasion of National Environment Day, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, President of the UAE, affirmed the UAE’s strong commitment to actively contributing to global climate action and strengthening collective responsibility in addressing environmental challenges.
Posting on his official account on Platform “X”, His Highness stated:
“On National Environment Day …
We draw inspiration from our history of sustainable progress and renew our determination to protect the environment and preserve its resources for future generations.
The UAE remains committed to supporting international climate action efforts and promoting collective responsibility towards shared global challenges.”

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has announced the launch of the 28th National Environment Day under the theme “Our Roots, The Foundation of Our Future.”
The initiative aims to highlight the core values and principles of environmental conservation and nature preservation deeply rooted in the UAE’s heritage.
It seeks to build upon these traditions and raise public awareness.
Besides encouraging the adoption of sustainable practices to ensure a better future for generations to come.
Celebrated annually on February 4, this year’s National Environment Day aligns with HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed declaration of 2025 as the “Year of the Community.”
As the community plays a pivotal role in driving sustainable development across all sectors.
It also can contribute significantly to environmental conservation and the protection of natural resources from depletion.
Diversity is Deeply Ingrained in Emirati Culture
Her Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, stated:
“This year’s National Environment Day highlights the deeply rooted culture of the UAE community.
The Emirati culture focuses on protecting the environment, conserving natural resources, and fostering sustainability.
The UAE’s environment is a rich natural treasure, boasting diverse agricultural production, abundant livestock, and marine resources.
In addition to its vast biodiversity.
This diversity is deeply ingrained in Emirati culture, carrying significant heritage symbols that define our society.”

She added:

It must serve as motivation for every citizen to embrace sustainability.
