Myanmar Government honored the UAE Search and Rescue Team.
Due to the tremendous efforts it made during its humanitarian and relief missions in areas affected by the recent earthquake in Myanmar.
During the ceremony, the Minister of Social Welfare in Myanmar and the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs praised the UAE’s prominent humanitarian role and its swift, effective support to countries impacted by natural disasters.
They affirmed that the UAE team’s presence had a tangible impact on saving lives and alleviating the suffering of those affected.
Officials From Myanmar Government Honor UAE Rescue Team
Myanmar Government officials honored the following members from the Emirati rescue team:
- Colonel Muzaffar Mohammed Al Amri, Commander of the UAE Search and Rescue Team
- Lieutenant Colonel Hamad Mohammed Al Kaabi, Deputy Commander.
They commended their professional competence and the team’s outstanding performance.
As well as its fruitful cooperation with local authorities and international teams on the ground.
Search Operations Done
During the meeting, an update was presented on the latest search and rescue operations.
Myanmar minister officially announced the conclusion of all field operations after completing the emergency response phase.
Commemorative plaques were exchanged between the UAE team and the teams of Myanmar, Vietnam, Singapore, and France.
Alongside discussions about operational plans and experience-sharing to enhance emergency preparedness in the future.
At the end of the mission, Colonel Al Amri expressed pride in receiving the honor.
He said that it reflects international trust in the UAE team’s efficiency and high responsiveness in emergencies.
Moreover, he stressed that this recognition honors the team’s fieldwork in a harsh and exceptional environment.

He added that the team is proud to represent the UAE in such missions.
By carrying a message of solidarity and peace that transcends borders.
He affirmed the team’s ongoing commitment to supporting affected communities and reinforcing the UAE’s presence in global humanitarian work.
The UAE had swiftly dispatched the search and rescue team to support Myanmar Government.
This was according to the directives of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
In order to assist with rescue operations following the devastating earthquake in Myanmar—further embodying the UAE’s values of global cooperation, solidarity, and humanitarian support.
