Morocco Aftershocks are continuous till today after the earthquake which happened last friday night.
Seven days after the 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Morocco.
And the rescue teams continue their intensive efforts in villages destroyed by the earthquake.
Although hopes of finding survivors have faded.
Rehousing the victims of Morocco earthquake is a top priority for the Moroccan government.
The Moroccan monarch, King Mohammed VI, announced yesterday evening that the process of the rehousing will continue.
This came during a working meeting chaired by King Mohammed VI at the Royal Palace in Rabat.
Moreover, the king dedicated the meeting to activating the emergency program for the rehousing of the victims.
Also in order to take care of the most affected groups from the earthquake, which epicenter is in the Azilal region.
The formed ministerial committee for the earthquake said that the first phase of the rehousing program concerns about 50,000 homes.
Which have collapsed completely or partially in the five affected provinces.
In addition, the Moroccan state will grant an urgent assistance of 30,000 Moroccan dirhams to the families concerned.
On the other hand, the Moroccan Ministry of Interior has confirmed that the authorities are continuing their efforts.
By taking care of the injured, housing the victims, delivering food and health aid to them.
As well as “secure the movement of traffic on the roads.”
The earthquake struck deep in mountainous areas with scattered and remote villages in Morocco.
Morocco is using rescue teams from 4 countries including the UAE, but they are facing difficult terrain.
Many villages have been razed to the ground, especially since most of the buildings are made of mud,
For example: in the village of Inghlid, relief operations and the delivery of aid are facing roads that have been cut off due to rock falls.
Especially unpaved roads that cross the mountains.
A ministry official said that specialized teams are continuing to work to open many of those secondary roads in the mountains to secure access to small villages.
However, these operations face the challenge of repeated rock falls due to aftershocks.
The International Red Cross has launched a call to raise more than $100 million to provide urgent needs for Morocco.
While extensive solidarity campaigns are continuing from different cities of the kingdom to deliver aid to the affected areas.
In addition, a pedagogical source from Taroudant in southern Morocco said that nearly 300 secondary schools in the region do not fit for study.
Especially those located in the epicenter of the earthquake in Ighil.
For his part, Mohamed Teknaoui, head of the regional department of the Academy of Education and Training in Azilal, said:
“There are 26 devastated villages in his region, all educational institutions in which have been closed.
In addition to two villages in the Chichaoua region.”
Teknaoui added that according to the latest statistics they have received, 5 teachers in schools have died in the region.
