The Most Advanced Satellite in MENA Region
Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre accomplished the final preparations for the launch of “Mohammed bin Zayed Sat MBZ-SAT”.
MBZ-SAT is the most advanced satellite in the region.
During a press conference, the Centre stated that all preparations are complete.
Now “MBZ-SAT” satellite is integrated with “Falcon 9” launch rocket from SpaceX.
They also mentioned that the launch timing announcement will be later this month, two or three days before the scheduled date.
The Centre emphasized that satellite launches are highly sensitive processes.
As many factors and conditions may affect the timing of the launch.
Over 200 Engineers and Employees Worked on Mohammed bin Zayed Sat Project
Continuous coordination with SpaceX is ongoing, and in case of any developments, the process may be rescheduled.
MBRSC noted that more than 200 engineers and employees worked on building “Mohammed bin Zayed Sat” satellite.
This reflects significant progress in localizing the space industry in the UAE.
“HCT-Sat 1” satellite launching will be in parallel with “MBZ-SAT,” developed in collaboration with the Higher Colleges of Technology.
This satellite is a nanometric satellite, dedicated to Earth observation, with a U1 size of 10x10x10 cm.

Salem Humaid Al Marri, Director General of MBRSC, expressed his pride in the achievement, saying:
“The vision was clear from the beginning, to make the UAE among the leading countries in satellite development.
And also to use these technologies in serving the nation and the region.
We have succeeded in localizing the space industry.
Now we have local companies such as Strata, Emirates Global Aluminium, and Halcon.
Those companies are producing high-quality parts incorporated into space industries.”

What are the technical capabilities of Mohammed bin Zayed Sat ?
Amer Al Saegh Al Ghaffari, Project Manager of “Mohammed bin Zayed Sat” stated that the satellite has advanced technical capabilities.
Including the ability to capture ten times more images than the current capabilities.
With double the imaging accuracy and four times the data transfer and download speed of current capabilities.
He added that the satellite has the ability to process and download images in less than two hours.
Al Ghaffari also mentioned that this mission not only supports the space sector.
As it also contributes to enhancing local industries related to manufacturing, logistics services, and space data.
