His Highness added: “Today, we have approved 320 million dirhams of additional budgets for our national universities to develop and improve performance in the future … Life will return to our universities, schools, and the ranks of our students soon … The government has the job to create an ideal environment for their return for the academic year 2020-2021.” His Highness said: We launched the first system of sustainable agriculture, the first of its kind, to enhance our food security and employ technology to raise the food productivity of our agricultural sector … sustainable agriculture is an economic and social guarantee for our country.

His Highness also said: Our goal is to increase the rate of self-sufficiency in the country from agricultural crops and increase the workforce in the agricultural field, adding His Highness: We want to invest in new fields and mechanisms for agriculture by using modern technologies and making proactive changes in food and agricultural systems.
His Highness stressed that the file of food security was and will remain at the heart of the government’s priorities and that the efforts of the people of the Emirates will not stop until the self-sufficiency of the state is achieved through innovative ideas and ambitious visions that inspire the approach of the founding fathers and keep pace with the latest modern technological developments.
The National System for Sustainable Agriculture aims to bring about proactive changes in food and agricultural systems across a range of axes that include marketing of sustainable products, achieving a competitive advantage for the product, attracting the local consumer to acquire sustainable products and contributing to advancing improvement and development in the supply chain.
The system has been prepared within the initiatives that the national food security strategy worked in the country, which were developed by the “government accelerators to adopt modern agricultural technology” teams, and supervised by the Food Security Office, with the aim of finding effective solutions to raise the efficiency and competitiveness of national food production, and provide support channels For those concerned in this sector, and to attract the necessary investments to establish sustainable agricultural projects that achieve food security for the UAE and effectively support economic growth.
The system also aims to achieve a set of goals, the foremost of which is activating sustainable food production systems, employing modern technologies and techniques in this field, and enhancing local agricultural production in a manner that ensures optimal handling of the challenges facing the food security sector in the country, including water scarcity and climate change, Population growth and the consequent increase in demand for food.
UAE Economy is the gate for sustainable development
The system also aims to achieve a set of axes at the economic, social and environmental levels. At the economic level, work will be done to increase the rate of self-sufficiency in the state for the targeted agricultural crops at an annual rate of 5%, and to improve the economic returns to the farm by 10% annually, while the system aims at the level The social goal is to increase the workforce in the field by 5% annually, while at the environmental level, the system aims to rationalize the amount of water used in the production unit by 15% annually.
In legislative affairs, the Cabinet approved the updating of the UAE standard for safety requirements for school buses “vehicles – safety requirements for school buses”, which comes in the context of continuous improvement to improve the levels of safety in buses according to the highest international standards by adopting the latest technological developments to ensure Achieve the highest levels of maintaining the safety of students of different age groups.
The Council also agreed to amend the schedule of government agencies attached to the Cabinet Resolution for the year 2017 regarding government agencies and their activities that are carried out in a sovereign manner. The Council also agreed to amend some provisions of the Federal Law for the year 2010 regarding credit information and ratified an agreement between the UAE government and the Government of Nepal regarding air services.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi
In government affairs, the council approved “Wizz Air Abu Dhabi” as a national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, provided that the company completes all legal, administrative and technical requirements.
In another context, the Council reviewed the recommendations of the Federal National Council regarding the issue of the Ministry of Community Development policy regarding services provided to people of determination, and recommendations related to the policy of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, while the Council agreed to establish the office of the Permanent Delegate of the State to the International Maritime Organization in the kingdom.
The UAE adopts a comprehensive national system to enable sustainable food production through technology and innovation
The Council adopted the policy of terms and controls for cash, securities and commercial goods that are employed in the foreign direct investment company, which would attract more foreign direct investments in light of providing a safe environment for the foreign investor, and ensuring the commitment of licensed foreign direct investment companies to the procedures, controls, and conditions issued by the regulatory authorities Federal and local, including the Emirates Central Bank, the Securities and Commodities Authority, the Ministry of Economy, and the relevant local and federal authorities.
The policy also provides frameworks to enhance the investment environment in the country and raise its competitiveness at the global level, by continuing to develop the legislative framework to ensure the creation of an attractive investment environment that protects the rights of investors.
During the meeting, the funding differences for the federal universities and colleges were approved, and the result of the funding owed to the federal universities and colleges was disbursed based on the performance results for the academic year 2019-2020, totalling more than 320 million dirhams, distributed among universities, in addition to approving the numbers of students in each university for the academic year 2019 – 2020.
