HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Discusses regional developments with the President of Egypt
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, met with his brother Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in New Alamein City during private visit to Egypt that lasted several days.
They discussed the strong fraternal relations between the two countries during their meeting.
In addition to various aspects of cooperation and joint work.
They talked about ways to enhance cooperation at all levels to serve their mutual interests.
As well as the aspirations of their peoples for further progress and prosperity.
Their highnesses touched on developments in regional and international issues of common interest and exchanged views on them.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and the Egyptian President affirmed their keenness to continue fraternal consultations on various issues.
Expressing their pride in the strong fraternal ties between the UAE and Egypt, which are reflected in the level of close coordination between them.
UAE President Toured New Alamein City with his Egyptian Counterpart
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi toured New Alamein City.
They viewed its main landmarks and inspected the completed construction and development projects in the city.
During his visit to New Alamein City, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visit included a stop at the New Alamein Festival, which features a variety of entertainment activities and has attracted thousands of visitors.
The leaders also engaged with the public, capturing moments in photographs and holding an open-air dialogue by the sea.
At the end of his visit to Egypt, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed departed, with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and several senior officials bidding him farewell at Alamein Airport.
About New Alamein City
New Alamein is a new city in northwest Egypt inaugurated by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on 1 March 2018.
New Alamein lies on the Mediterranean Sea, approximately 85 km west of Borg El Arab International Airport.
Still under construction, New Alamein was conceived by the Egyptian government as a center for tourism, education, and government.
The city has its own presidential palace and ministry building.
Construction is ongoing at New Alamein for three universities, fifteen skyscrapers and high rise towers, and 10,000 hotel rooms.
Work has begun on Phase II of the New Alamein megaproject, which includes ten additional coastal towers.
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi inaugurated New Alamein on March 1, 2018.
Together with the as-yet-unnamed New Administrative Capital, which is set to replace Cairo as Egypt’s capital.
New Alamein is one of the mega-projects of the al-Sisi government.
In March 2019, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan toured the construction sites in New Alamein for the first time.
UAE contributions to Egypt’s development
Ras El-Hekma Project:
The UAE, through Abu Dhabi-based sovereign investor ADQ, has committed to investing $35 billion in Egypt.
This project aims to transform Ras El-Hekma into a world-class holiday destination, financial center, and free zone.
It has also engaged in numerous strategic partnerships with Egypt to enhance economic cooperation.

Infrastructure projects:
Several infrastructure projects in Egypt were supported by the UAE.
Including the development of new cities, roads, and public facilities.
These projects aim to improve the quality of life for Egyptian citizens and boost economic growth.
They also reflect the UAE’s commitment to supporting Egypt’s economic development and fostering strong bilateral relations between the two nations.
