New Position For Dubai on the Global Medical Tourism Map
Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, Executive Director of the Health Regulation Sector at the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), confirmed that the authority has developed a new strategy for medical tourism in Dubai for the upcoming year.
This strategy will be implemented in coordination with relevant partners and healthcare institutions.
Mentioning that it will enhance Dubai’s position on the global medical tourism map.
He noted that Dubai has successfully attracted tourists for medical treatment from Europe and East Asia.
As it is providing care for tourists with international health insurance, so they can receive medical services easily in the emirate’s hospitals.
Over 500,000 Tourists Seeking Treatment in Dubai
During Forbes Middle East Medical Tourism and Health Wellness Summit in Dubai, Dr. Al Mulla explained that the emirate surpassed the targeted number for its medical tourism system last year.
This is by reaching 500,000 tourists seeking treatment.
Dubai has also attracted more than 600,000 tourists from various nationalities.
Strategic Plan that Aligns with Dubai Economic Agenda D33
Dr. Al Mulla emphasized that Dubai’s healthcare system relies on sustainability and quality.
As well as the adoption of innovation in healthcare.
He pointed out that medical tourism experience in Dubai follows quality healthcare standards, safety, and patient experience enhancement.
While also boosting Dubai’s global competitiveness.
He highlighted that DHA’s plan aligns with Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims at making Dubai a leading global destination for business and leisure.
As well as the best city in the world to live, work, and visit.
It also aims to increase its competitiveness in global economic and tourism indicators.

Forbes Medical Tourism Conference in Dubai Supports UAE Health Sector
Dr. Farida Al Hosani, a member of the Advisory Group for the Influenza Preparedness Framework at WHO, Assistant Professor, and Infectious Disease Expert, stated:

She explained that medical tourism is a key and important partner in the country’s development.
