Low-carbon Techs enhance Abu Dhabi strategy for climate change.
Climate change is a long-term change in the global climate.
The world is witnessing severe climate changes with the rapid development in all fields.
Which has led governments to seriously consider taking practical steps to address these changes.
The United Arab Emirates was among the pioneers in adopting “sustainability” as one of the main pillars of its development strategy.
The Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi (EAD) has confirmed that it is working to take proactive measures.
Which aims to provide new proposals and solutions to enhance economic diversification through innovation and the use of low-carbon techs.
Furthermore, EAD noted that the Climate Change Strategy for Abu Dhabi has identified two main axes to ensure business continuity.
Also to enhance its resilience in the face of the risks of climate change.
The first axis is to reduce emissions while maintaining economic growth by the use of low-carbon techs and innovation.
While the second axis focuses on enhancing the resilience of the main economic sectors in adapting to the expected risks.
Furthermore, EAD stressed on Abu Dhabi commitment to achieve its target of reducing emissions by 47 million tons of greenhouse gases by 2030.
EAD noted that it will reduce the emirate’s emissions by 22% over the next five years from the level of total emissions in 2016.
This is equivalent to the carbon dioxide emissions stored by 500 million trees for 10 years.
In order to ensure the protection of infrastructure, energy, environment, and health sectors from the effects of climate change by 2050.
EAD indicated that the Climate Change Strategy for Abu Dhabi aims to enhance the emirate’s resilience in the face of the risks of climate change.
