The UAE National and International Anti-Drug Strategy
The United Arab Emirates has been at the forefront of global competitiveness indicators in security and drug control.
It has achieved remarkable results, by being the first globally in reducing drug crime rates.
The UAE has also excelled in reducing the total number of drug-related reports and resulting deaths.
Over the past five years, it has witnessed a 103% increase in the total number of apprehended drug dealers and traffickers locally.
Additionally, more than 78 tons of drugs have been seized within the country.
Internationally, the UAE has contributed to the arrest of 179 suspects in 196 international operations, seizing 6.9 tons of drugs during 2022-2023.
Efforts to combat money laundering related to drug crimes have led to the freezing of 1881 bank accounts and the apprehension of 173 suspects.
