His Highness President Sheikh Khalifa has granted the Order of Independence, First Class, on Patrizio Fondi, who is the Head of the EU Delegation to the UAE, in appreciation of his endeavours during his tenure, towards the development and fortifying of relations between the UAE and EU.
On Thursday, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation bestowed the order to the EU ambassador during a ceremony at the ministry in Abu Dhabi.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah praised the ambassador’s role in boosting ties between the UAE and EU and wished him success for the future.
Mr Fondi thanked His Highness President Sheikh Khalifa and the UAE government for their support during his mission.
