AI Skills Are Shaping the Future
Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has announced a collaboration with 42 Abu Dhabi coding school, and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) to support students AI skills.
Together, they will launch specialized summer programs focused on AI skills for students in Abu Dhabi.
The goal is to encourage the new generation to actively participate in shaping the future across various sectors using AI skills.
AI Skills Supported by ADEK, 42 Abu Dhabi and Mohamed bin Zayed University of AI
Summer Programs:
- Target Audience:
These programs will engage 2,400 students from grades 9 to 12 across government schools, private schools, and educational partnership schools in Abu Dhabi. - Program Content:
The programs cover the fundamentals of applied artificial intelligence, its diverse real-world applications, ethical practices, and emerging concepts in the field.
Students will gain comprehensive insights into the future uses of AI. - Professional Paths: Additionally, the programs explore potential career paths related to AI.
Training Camps:
- ADEK, in collaboration with 42 Abu Dhabi, organizes training camps that provide practical learning experiences for students from grade 9 to 12.
- During these camps, students explore the latest AI innovations, enhance problem-solving skills, and learn future-ready competencies.
They collaborate with peers to develop innovative solutions. - The camps run for over four weeks, allowing students to immerse themselves in hands-on learning.
Full-Day Camps:
- These full-day camps take place in six schools across Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafra, and Al Ain.
- Students receive a comprehensive experience, focusing on AI skills and command engineering.
The curriculum emphasizes advanced techniques, including fine-tuning language models using specific commands to enhance result quality and accuracy. - Participants engage in three guided sessions and benefit from practical experiences using AI tools suitable for beginners.
Two-Hour Sessions:
- In partnership with Abu Dhabi Councils, ADEK offers two-hour sessions at 28 council offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafra, and Al Ain.
- These sessions provide insights into AI and its applications, fostering awareness among citizens.
Exploration and Development:
- A special five-day summer program, utilizing AI, is jointly offered by ADEK and MBZUAI. It targets 11th-grade students.
- Additionally, ADEK collaborates with MBZUAI to prepare four Emirati students for participation in the inaugural International AI Olympiad.
