ICAN 2024 Conference in Kuala Lumpur Welcomes the UAE Delegation
The United Arab Emirates General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) is participating in “ICAN 2024”.
ICAN, the air services negotiations conference, is organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
This year it is held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from October 21 to 25.
This conference serves as a leading platform for air transport negotiations among ICAO member states.
As it is bringing together civil aviation authorities, industry leaders, and stakeholders from all over the world.
So they can discuss topics concerning air connectivity in civil aviation sector.
UAE Delegation Meets Representatives From 20 Countries
The UAE is a leading country in the aviation and air transport sector.
The country is keen to participate in ICAN to reaffirm its commitment to develop a comprehensive and sustainable air transport system.
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the GCAA is leading the UAE delegation that includes representatives from local authorities and national carriers.
Mentioning that the UAE delegation will hold bilateral meetings with representatives from 20 participating countries.
Those meetings are to enhance and develop joint cooperation in air connectivity with these nations.
Saif Al Suwaidi commented:
“Through its participation in ICAN 2024, the UAE reiterates its commitment to strengthening international relations in civil aviation.
Besides advancing bilateral air transport agreements between the UAE and other countries.”

189 Air Transport Agreements Signed by the UAE
He added: “We look forward to constructive discussions that will enhance our existing partnerships with ICAO member states.”
It is worth noting that the UAE has signed 189 bilateral air transport agreements with countries around the world.
This big agreements number made it a global leader.
ICAN 2024 conference represents an important opportunity to further develop and strengthen UAE agreements.
