Hamdan bin Zayed: "On International Humanitarian Day. We must remember the rich legacy left to us by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him. Since Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan set a unique model in humanitarian work.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler in Al Dhafra Region, Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent, confirmed that the UAE, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is at the forefront of donor countries with its continuous humanitarian work.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan said, in a statement on the occasion of the International Humanitarian Day.

“The UAE has become an important platform to support the international humanitarian movement.

Which achieve security and stability for the vulnerable segments and the least fortunate of the desired development processes.

He added: “On International Humanitarian Day.
We must remember the rich legacy left to us by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him.
Since Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan set a unique model in humanitarian work.

Also he presented the world with an unprecedented experience in preserving human dignity and solidarity.
In addition to compassion among human beings, until the name of the UAE was associated with good deeds and its various fields.”

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed renewed the UAE’s commitment to enhancing its humanitarian efforts around the world.
And adopting initiatives that make the difference needed to provide comprehensive humanitarian care services.

Also he pointed to the presence of Emirati citizens currently in a number of arenas that are witnessing humanitarian crises and natural disasters.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan pointed to the efforts of the State to constantly reduce the severity of poverty.

By providing the basic requirements of life to their beneficiaries.

Especially food, which is considered the protective shield against diseases, epidemics, homelessness and deprivation.

He called on the international community and the UN organizations to make more efforts.
Also to activate partnerships and strengthen coordination processes around programs and initiatives to alleviate the suffering.
In addition to reducing the number of refugees and displacement in the regions and arenas of turmoil.

Calling on donors to enhance their support for the specialized global organizations to play their role in the best way.
And to meet the humanitarian needs in light of the pressing economic conditions.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the Emirates Red Crescent has recently expanded its activities.

As well as relief operations and strengthened its response to the critical humanitarian situations facing some peoples of the region.
Emirates Red Crescent movements were up to the challenge and determination.
Based on its noble objectives, and its commitment to its principles that put the human being and his needs at the forefront of priorities.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed stressed that the humanitarian situations in the world are more in need than ever before.
To coordinate efforts and adopt initiatives that make a big difference in improving the level of assistance flow to the affected areas.

And also ensuring that it reaches those affected by the speed that their critical situations require.

He added:
“The forces of good in the world must make International Humanitarian Day an opportunity.
And surely a good opportunity to mobilize energies and capabilities.
In addition to exchanging views and ideas, and coordinating programs and operations.

To save the lives of millions of people who are threatened by risks.”

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed expressed his appreciation for the areas of cooperation between the Emirates Red Crescent and regional and international humanitarian organizations for a better future.
