Non-oil trade between the UAE and Japan has increased by 36% in the past two years (2020-2022).
From 39.9 billion dirhams to 54.1 billion dirhams last year.
According to data from the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority.
The jump in non-oil trade volume reflects the strength of the economic and trade partnership between the two friendly countries.
Moreover, this is driving the paths of sustainable development towards further economic prosperity and sustainable growth.
The volume of non-oil trade between the two countries has increased rapidly during the past ten years (2013-2022).
As per the results, from 53.9 billion dirhams to 54.1 billion dirhams.
And the volume reached a total of 524.4 billion dirhams during 10 years.
During the past year, foreign trade between the two countries was distributed as per the following:
-Re-exports worth 3.4 billion dirhams.
-Non-oil exports worth 6.5 billion dirhams.
-Imports amounted to 44.1 billion dirhams.
Furthermore, on the list of top 5 commodities cars were the first commodity re-exported to Japan last year.
Mentioning that the value of cars re-export was 1.3 billion dirhams.
Second on the list was car parts and accessories; worth 417 million dirhams.
Third on the list were tires; worth 274 million dirhams.
Fourth and fifth were jewelry; worth 150 million dirhams and precious metal scraps; worth 105 million dirhams.
In the export field, raw aluminum topped the list of the top 5 commodities that were exported to Japan with a value of 3.9 billion dirhams.
Followed by mineral oils worth 991 million dirhams, then centrifugal devices worth 613 million dirhams.
After them comes copper with worth 404 million dirhams, then propylene polymers worth 143 million dirhams.
While the top 5 commodities that were imported from Japan during 2022, cars topped the list with a value of 20.08 billion dirhams.
Followed by car parts and accessories worth 4.3 billion dirhams, then iron worth 1.3 billion dirhams.
Then telecommunications devices and equipment worth 1.1 billion dirhams, and printing devices worth 1.07 billion dirhams.
