Stimulating Innovation and Accelerating Technology Localization
The United Arab Emirates has launched a new “Green Intellectual Property” roadmap.
This roadmap aims at stimulating innovation and accelerating the localization of technology.
Besides establishing new projects in the fields of circular economy, environmental sustainability, and the new economy.
This three-month roadmap will enhance the competitiveness of the intellectual property system in the country.
By pushing it to more advanced and prosperous levels.
As well as supporting its transition towards a circular economy model.
New Milestone in Raising Awareness
H.E Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the UAE Circular Economy Council, stated:
“The UAE has successfully adopted qualitative initiatives and projects for the intellectual property sector, which is one of the vital sectors for building a strong and sustainable national economy, thanks to the forward-looking vision of its wise leadership. ”
He added: “Today, in light of this direction, we are witnessing a new project for this vital sector, which is the ‘Green Intellectual Property’ roadmap.
This represents a new milestone in raising awareness about the importance of using green technologies and techniques.
In order to provide advanced services and products that serve society.
As well as enhancing the UAE’s attractiveness for green and sustainable innovations.
This contributes to solidifying its position among the most innovative countries globally, in line with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision.”

Green Intellectual Property Involves Cooperation With WIPO
His Excellency emphasized that the new intellectual property roadmap is particularly significant.
As it coincides with the UAE government’s launch of the Government Innovation Month.
This initiative involves working and cooperating with local environmental entities in the country.
And also with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to achieve all the objectives of this roadmap.
It aims to provide more enablers and opportunities.
In order to encourage inventors and creators to develop sustainable innovations and projects in vital economic fields and sectors.
This announcement was made during a media briefing organized by the Ministry of Economy at its headquarters in Dubai.
Where the objectives of the new “Green Intellectual Property” roadmap and its vital role in supporting national efforts to enhance innovations in sustainable economic fields in the country were reviewed.
