Mona Ghanem Al Marri Reaffirms UAE’s Commitment to Women’s Empowerment
During Global Women’s Forum Dubai 2024, H.E. Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President of the UAE Gender Balance Council and Chairperson and Managing Director, reaffirmed the UAE’s steadfast commitment to enhancing the status of women both on regional and global levels.
In her welcoming speech at the official opening session of the first day of the Global Women’s Forum, she stated:

We welcome you to the Global Women’s Forum held today in Dubai under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council and President of Dubai Women Establishment.
I am pleased to welcome the guests of the UAE to this significant global event.”

She added: “The UAE leads in many important regional and global indicators related to women’s empowerment and gender balance.
These achievements and progress in women’s issues are not for social luxury or competition.
They are the result of the solid approach, established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and strengthened by wise leadership.
Today, we reap the fruits of this vision, presenting an honorable image of Emirati women who have become a global model.”
She explained:
“With the continuous and significant support of HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak ..
We have moved from the empowerment phase to enhancing women’s opportunities in all vital sectors.”
Global Women’s Forum Dubai 2024: Dialogue and Partnerships For More Prosperity
H.E. Mona Ghanem Al Marri continued:
“In 2015, His Highness directed the establishment of the UAE Gender Balance Council under the leadership of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed.
The main goal was to be among the top 25 countries in the UNDP Gender Inequality Index.
Today, after seven years, and due to your wise vision and the legislation and laws issued by the government…
The UAE has achieved the first regional and seventh global rank in this index.
The UAE is now a global reference for gender balance legislation.”

This event is organized by Dubai Women Establishment at Jumeirah city, with the attendance of over 4000 participants.
