Global Faith Summit on Climate Action: Importance and Strategic Value
The Global Faith Summit on Climate Action will start in Abu Dhabi tomorrow.
In fact, the summit will highlight the pivotal role of religious communities and institutions in addressing the climate crisis.
The summit comes at a critical time, because humanity faces an existential threat from climate change.
Human activities have led to rising global temperatures.
Which resulted in widespread changes in weather patterns and extreme weather events.
This has caused extensive human and financial losses, and also the situation might get worse in the future.
Religion plays an important role in the lives of millions of people around the world.
Since they are raising awareness of climate change and urging societies to take action on it.
Global Faith Summit on Climate Action aims to strengthen interfaith cooperation in climate action.
Also it seeks to achieve specific objectives, including:

- Urging religious communities to take action on climate change
- Building partnerships between religions and other stakeholders in climate action
Moreover, the summit is expected to issue a Joint Interfaith Statement on Climate Action.
While the statement aims to send a clear message to the world that religions stand united in facing climate change.
The summit will be on 6 and 7 Nov in Abu Dhabi.
Organized by the Muslim Council of Elders in collaboration with the Presidency of COP28.
H.E Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and President of COP28, said:

Because it has been firmly established as key values of society in the United Arab Emirates.
In line with this vision, the Presidency of COP28 commends the efforts of religious leaders to raise awareness.
And also call for action to address the impacts of climate change.
In light of the great importance of the role of these leaders in instilling the right values and principles.
To encourage individuals and societies to protect the planet, we reaffirm the Presidency’s support for the call made by global religious leaders…
To unite, pool efforts, and activate participation in climate action in order to build a better future for humanity everywhere.”
