UAE (MEP) launches the Generation Hope Initiatives

The UAE Space Agency (UAESA) and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) announced the launch of the Generation Hope Initiatives within the UAE project to explore Mars, the Probe of Hope, to develop the spirit of exploration, and scientific research among youth and students through lectures and workshops, and enhancing their passion for space science, engineering, and scientific research.

Generation Hope Initiatives Activities

Several activities will be launched to inspire students and develop new competencies in the space field between November 2020 and January 2021 through the Generation Hope Initiatives. The development of national cadres in many fields such as space technology, knowledge development, and scientific research is one of the most prominent goals of the Emirates Mars Exploration Project (MEP), Probe of Hope.

Generation Hope Initiatives virtual sessions 

Starting this November, a series of virtual online sessions entitled “The Scientific Journey of the Probe of Hope” will be hosted during the Generation Hope Initiatives, which include a scientific overview of the investigation mission in its journey to exploring the Red Planet.
The introductory session for this series of virtual seminars for the Initiatives will be held on the first and fourth of November, while the extended session will be held in the following week. There will be sessions every two weeks in Arabic and English with the UAE project team Probe of Hope. It will explain the different concepts of the probe systems and space science and the roles and tasks of the team members.

Generation Hope Camps

The Generation of Hope initiatives includes holding two awareness camps in December 2020 and January 2021 Next December, the Generation of Hope camp will focus on hosting workshops and interactive activities for high school and middle school students on Mars and space exploration.

An intensive and specialized two-day camp will be launched under the title “Journey to Mars” for distinguished university students in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The scientific team present in the United Arab Emirates will be the Mars Exploration Project Probe of Hope, which will inform them of their experiences and experiences related to scientific research in the field of Space Sciences and Mars.
