Gardens of Tolerance Project Symbolizes the Environment and Society Connection
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, launched the “Gardens of Tolerance” initiative.
He also inaugurated Umm Al Emarat Park as the first site under this project.
This initiative symbolizes the connection between the environment and society.
It is also encouraging visitors to explore the diversity of plant life in the UAE and beyond.
The announcement was made during the opening of the National Festival of Tolerance public activities at Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi.
This event witnessed a remarkable turnout, with South Korea as the guest of honor this year.
Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony featured the “Tolerance Choir,” a multicultural performance by over 100 participants in traditional attire.
This choir is highlighting unity for tolerance and humanity.
Key speeches were delivered by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak and Yoo Jeh-seung, the South Korean Ambassador to the UAE.
Following the speeches, Sheikh Nahyan led the “Tolerance Parade,” accompanied by ambassadors from various nations.
Later, they officially launched the Gardens of Tolerance.
During the launching of the gardens, Sheikh Nahyan planted a Korean tree.
While the Korean ambassador planted a Ghaf tree at the forefront of the park.
New Emirati Destinations
Umm Al Emarat Park was designated as a key landmark on the “Tolerance Trail”, a project by the Ministry to identify and connect major sites in the UAE that embody tolerance and coexistence.
These locations will educate visitors and showcase the nation’s achievements in promoting tolerance.
Later on, they will become essential destinations for citizens, residents, and tourists.

South Korea Ambassador Yoo Jeh-seung expressed his pride to participate in this unique event.
He noted the significance of the National Festival of Tolerance coinciding with the 12th edition of the Korea Festival.
Moreover, he commended the UAE’s dedication to fostering unity among over 200 nationalities.
