First Maritime Decarbonisation Center was launched by the UAE, as per the announcement of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.
It was launched in cooperation with the Norwegian classification society DNV.
This Maritime Decarbonisation Center is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region, and the fourth in the world.
It aims to accelerate efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the maritime sector and promote the transition to a low-carbon economy.
The headquarters of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London witnessed the agreement signing and celebration.
In the presence of senior government officials and a large number of leaders and stakeholders in the maritime sector from all over the world.
The Maritime Decarbonisation Center will focus on the following missions:
-Research and development.
-Cooperation between stakeholders.
-Knowledge sharing.
As well as raising awareness of the importance of reducing carbon emissions in the maritime sector.
The center is strategically located in the United Arab Emirates.
Surely the UAE is one of the most important maritime shipping hubs in the world.
Also has a wide network of partners from the public and private sectors.
By launching this center, the UAE confirms its commitment to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement on climate change.
As well as promoting the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The Emirates Center for Reducing Carbon Emissions in the Maritime Sector will be an important platform for research, cooperation.
