Tomorrow, Friday, marks the start of the first edition of Emirates E-Sports League 2024.
The competition will run from July 19th to 28th, featuring over 300 players—both citizens and residents—across four different electronic games.
Stages of Emirates E-Sports League 2024
The UAE Esports Federation announced this exciting event, highlighting that the competition will unfold in two stages:
Online Preliminaries: All individually registered players (outside of clubs) will compete remotely.
Finals: The qualified players from the preliminary stage, along with participating clubs, will compete in person.
The finals will take place at two esports centers.
One in Abu Dhabi and the other in Sharjah. Generous cash prizes await the winners.
During a press conference held in Sharjah, the Federation emphasized that launching the first official Emirates E-Sports League is a historic moment.
Because it reflects the Federation’s commitment to supporting and developing the esports sector in the country.
Aligning with the visionary leadership’s goal of making the UAE a regional and global hub for innovation and technology.
The Esports competitions cover four games:
- Electronic Football: 186 players will participate.
- Legends of League: 30 players.
- Valorant: 45 players.
- Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB): 56 players.
Eleven local football clubs have announced their participation in the electronic football category.
These clubs include:
Al Ain, Al Wasl, Al Nasr, Shabab Al Ahli, Al Jazira, Ajman and Khorfakkan.
In addition to Bani Yas, Ittihad Kalba, Fujairah, and Al Bataeh. Each club will field two main players and one substitute.
Attracting Talents
Saed Al Taher, the Secretary-General, expressed confidence that Emirates E-Sports League will attract and support Emirati talents.
The goal is to form Emirati teams that can compete in regional and international tournaments to achieve the desired results.
Many registered players are already champions at the continental and global levels.

The Federation aims to attract non-registered players to participate.
Selecting the best talents and providing specialized coaches for their development.
Additionally, the UAE Esports Federation will participate in the West Asia Electronic Football Championship in Jordan in September.
This is in coordination with the UAE Football Association and the Professional League.
