FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers: The UAE National Football Team besides Iran, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and North Korea
The draw for the third round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States took place at the Mandarin Orient Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, this morning.
Our national team has been placed in Group 1 alongside Iran, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and North Korea.
Group 2 includes South Korea, Iraq, Jordan, Oman, Palestine, and Kuwait.
While Group 3 features Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, China, and Indonesia.
UAE National Team Results
During the third stage of qualifiers from September 2024 to June 2025, the six teams in each group will compete in a league format over two rounds.
The top two teams from each group will directly qualify for 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Additionally, the remaining two spots will contest through the Asian playoff.
Our national team aims to reach the World Cup finals for the second time in its history.
They previously qualified once for the 1990 World Cup in Italy.

In the second stage of Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, they secured the top spot in Group 8, alongside Bahrain and Yemen.
The team collected 16 points, winning five matches, drawing one, and scoring 16 goals while conceding only two.
They started strongly in the first round by defeating Nepal 4-0.
Followed by a 2-0 victory against Bahrain, a 2-1 win against Yemen, a 3-0 victory over Yemen again, and a 4-0 win against Nepal.
They concluded the sixth and final round with a 1-1 draw against Bahrain.
