Under the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chair of the Family Development Foundation. The “Fatima Bint Mubarak Volunteering Program” launched the Mobile and Child Health Clinic for Telemedicine as the first mobile clinic concerned with women’s and children’s health in an initiative that is the first of Kind in the region.
Fatima Bint Mubarak Volunteering Program
The clinic aims to provide appropriate medical and treatment care by volunteer specialists in addition to educating patients and introducing them to the diseases that affect women and children and their risks and how to treat and prevent, especially infectious diseases such as the emerging coronavirus.
The initiative seeks to consolidate the culture of specialized volunteering and humanitarian giving among medical cadres by attracting, training, qualifying, and empowering talents in the areas of healthy volunteering to reduce the spread of diseases through an innovative initiative that combines mobile community medicine and telemedicine technology.
The latest facilities covered by the initiative
The specialist clinic for women and children includes units for clinical examination of women and children, a unit for the laboratory diagnosis of sugar and fat, kidney and liver diseases, a cardiac ultrasound examination unit, a heart effort examination, an education and awareness unit that provides specialized remote services especially for women and children with or suspected of having Coronavirus disease and who are in contact with Places of isolation and confinement, especially those with chronic diseases, through telemedicine technology and under the supervision of a group of senior volunteer doctors in the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak volunteer program.
The mobile clinic for telemedicine comes as a complement to the previous initiatives adopted by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, which have contributed effectively to enabling doctors and medical cadres in the Emirates to serve communities locally and internationally and provide them with practical and scientific skills in the field of voluntary medical response and management of clinics and field, mobile and virtual hospitals in various regions the world.

Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director of the General Women’s Union said: “The Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Volunteering Program” succeeded in presenting an innovative and distinguished global model for specialized health volunteering by attracting the best medical competencies from our first line of defense and qualifying and empowering them to serve communities locally and internationally on the initiative of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Mubarak built, and based on the directives of the wise leadership to support and empower young people in all opportunities for science and work until they succeeded and reached the highest scientific and practical ranks and actively participated in local and international humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of patients and limit the spread of diseases regardless of colour, gender, race or religion.
She emphasized that, the care of women and children is receiving great attention from Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, which led to the development of the level of health services provided to women and children, which has become comparable to the level of similar health services in the best centers in the world.
She said that, mobile and clinic women’s and children’s health clinic programs for telemedicine include several educational, awareness, and preventive activities in government and private institutions, clubs, shopping centers, and youth centers such as medical examinations of heart and lung health and functions.
She pointed out that the health volunteer team will provide free educational services to thousands of women and children through the mobile clinic for telemedicine equipped with the latest devices.
