The UAE has secured the second position globally in the “Career Prospects” ranking for expat, according to a survey conducted by “Interns”.
This ranking is based on the annual “Expat Insider” report.
The survey gathered opinions from 12,500 employees across 174 countries and regions worldwide.
Asking them about the countries they would like to move to for work—a factor that can significantly impact their career prospects and professional lives.
The UAE outperformed the United States, Luxembourg, Qatar, Belgium, Ireland, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong, securing the second spot.
The UAE among top 10 countries in the Middle East
The survey covered four main categories related to work:
Career prospects, salary and job security, work culture and job satisfaction, and work and leisure.
In the Middle East region, the UAE ranked among the top 10 countries.
Specifically, it secured the sixth position in terms of salary and job security.
As well as in work culture and job satisfaction.
Overall, the UAE claimed the tenth spot globally as one of the best places to work.
Expat Insider report highlighted three factors that received high approval rates in the UAE’s quality of life index:
- Government environmental policies.
- Infrastructure.
- Political stability.
Nearly 86% of participants agreed that the government supports environmental protection policies (compared to 61% globally).
Regarding travel and transportation, 91% of respondents positively evaluated the car infrastructure (compared to 73% globally).
However, cars are not the sole means of transportation.
Satisfaction with public transportation availability also improved (ranking seventeenth) compared to 2023.
Exceptional Safety
In terms of safety and security, stability received exceptionally high approval rates in Expat Insider report.

People also leave their front doors open.”

Lastly, entertainment options play a crucial role in a good quality of life.
Culinary diversity (eighth rank) and cultural experiences (third rank) received excellent evaluations.
Additionally, 70% of expats expressed happiness with recreational sports opportunities (compared to 72% globally).
The UAE excels in the “Career Prospects for Expat” category, ranking first in two out of the four subcategories.
