This unique initiative aims to document the history of the emirate through community participation.
By collecting and preserving stories and life experiences that reflect Dubai’s development and the lives of its people over time.
Hamdan bin Mohammed: “Every individual in Dubai has a story worth telling.”
In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed stated:
“Today, we launched “Erth Dubai”, a community-driven initiative aimed at documenting and preserving the emirate’s rich history and heritage for future generations.
Every individual in Dubai has a story worth telling, a legacy passed down through generations.
Today, Erth Dubai embarks on a mission to gather these stories and create a digital archive that safeguards our heritage and preserves our identity.
These stories pass down through generations, forming a legacy filled with achievements.
We invite everyone to take part in this initiative… Together, we write Dubai’s history in the voices of its people…
We carry its past into its future…
Ensuring its legacy remains deeply rooted in the memory of generations, a testament to a city that never stops inspiring.”

All Segments of Emirati Society Can Participate
Erth Dubai will unfold in multiple phases throughout 2025.
Beginning with the collection of submissions from the community.
At a later stage, a specialized jury, well-versed in historical, social, and cultural perspectives, will evaluate these submissions to capture their true essence.
The initiative encourages all segments of Emirati society to participate in documenting the emirate’s rich history.
Public and private school students, along with Dubai government employees, will help gather and document stories and life experiences.
