The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) Intensifies Its Humanitarian Efforts in Kurdistan, Iraq.
Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has intensified its humanitarian efforts and relief operations to mitigate the impact of winter on the people in Kurdistan, Iraq.
Through its representatives in northern Iraq, the ERC distributed winter aid to approximately 10,000 beneficiaries in camps in Erbil and surrounding provinces.
The aid included essential winter supplies, such as:
heating devices, blankets, clothes, children’s supplies, and food parcels.
These supplies will protect those affected from the consequences of low temperatures, extreme cold, and the spread of winter diseases, especially among children.
Serving People’s Needs During Harsh Cold Winters.
The ERC has also strengthened its programs and relief operations.
In order to meet the increasing humanitarian needs of the refugees and displaced who suffer during winter.
Field reports received by the organization indicate a lack of heating in camps during cold weather.
Due to the cold weather at this time of year.
In response, the ERC has prioritized providing greater protection to those affected by the harsh winter conditions.
Humanitarian Initiative in Hadramout Governorate – Yemen
In another humanitarian initiative, the ERC concluded its campaign to provide aid.
With the aim at alleviating the effects of the severe cold wave on the population in the mountainous areas of Hadramout Governorate – Yemen.
The campaign lasted for several weeks.
And it benefited 6,612 students living in remote and mountainous areas of Hadramout.
The ERC carefully identified the areas and assessed the actual needs of those affected before distributing the aid.
