
Energy & Infrastructure delivered 2538 housing units to citizens in 2020
Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, His Excellency Suhail bin Muhammad Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, affirmed that the ministry continued to achieve achievements during the current year despite the exceptional circumstances, explaining that the number of housing decisions issued by the ministry during the current year reached 2,347 decisions, including 2,141 loans and 206 grants, pointing to 2538 houses were handed over to the beneficiaries during the current year 2020, and 2,000 homes are scheduled to be handed over to citizens during the first quarter of the next year 2021.

His Excellency raised the highest congratulations and blessings to President of the State, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Vice President and Prime Minister of the State and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the occasion of the 49th National Day of the State.
His Excellency stated that the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has completed the delivery of 2538 houses to citizens during the current year 2020, stressing that government housing is a fruit of the Union and an important acceleration in the comprehensive development process that received the support of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and vigorous follow-up and full care from President of the State, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Energy & Infrastructure Future Goals
His Excellency noted that providing advanced infrastructure and sustainable government housing that brings happiness to the UAE citizens and the quality of their lives is a priority in the agenda of the Ministry, this is reflected through the initiatives to establish modern residential complexes, explaining that the ministry is working to foresee the future of housing within the design project of the fifty years Al-Maqba, which targets among its axes the housing sector as one of the vital axes to support the comprehensive development plan of the UAE.
His Excellency added: The future goals of the Ministry are the sustainability of government housing and the provision of housing in a modern concept that meets the developments in various fields and needs imposed by the global changes.
The Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme (SZHP) has contributed, since its inception in 1999, to stabilizing 35,455 families by granting them ready-made governmental housing. The total housing units approval adopted by the program since its inception are about 74,504, with a total amount of 41 billion 277 million and 614 thousand dirhams, where these decisions were distributed.
