UAE Secured the Top Position Regionally in 2024 UNDP Gender Equality Index

Notably, the UAE has achieved global recognition for gender balance.
It ranks seventh globally and retains its top position regionally in the 2024 United Nations Development Programme Gender Equality Index.

These accomplishments reflect the country’s commitment to equal opportunities and protection of women’s rights.
As well as its efforts to enhance competitiveness on the global stage.

Two years ago, the UAE adopted the Gender Balance Strategy 2022-2026.
Aiming to become a global model for gender equality.

UAE’s Gender Balance Strategy 2022-2026 aims to transition from closing gaps to sharing best practices globally.

Today, the UAE stands as a global pioneer in safeguarding women’s rights.

Mentioning that institutions like the General Women’s Union and the UAE Gender Balance Council play a crucial role in empowering women.
Through programs and initiatives, they have built women’s capacities across various domains, overcoming obstacles and contributing to the nation’s progress.

When was the first time to celebrate Emirati Women’s Day ?

Emirati Women’s Day was first celebrated in 2015.

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak played a pivotal role in establishing this celebration.

The choice of August 28 as the date coincides with the founding of the UAE’s General Women’s Union.
As it was established on August 28, 1975.
Since then, Emirati Women’s Day has become an annual occasion to honor and recognize the remarkable achievements of Emirati women across various fields.
