The Emirati Search and Rescue Team arrived in Benghazi, Libya yesterday.
The team will help the Libyan authorities in dealing with the effects of the floods caused by the heavy rains.
This initiative comes in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to send urgent relief and search and rescue teams to Libya.

So the team can conduct its operations regionally and internationally in accordance with the requirements, standards and procedures in this regard.
Earlier, the Acting Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent, Hamoud Abdullah Al Junaibi, pointed out that an emergency relief plane has been dispatched to Libya, carrying large quantities of food, shelter and other essential items.
Also, he said that a delegation from the Authority is accompanying the plane.
In order to deliver the assistance and lead the Authority’s relief operations in the field.
In addition, they will assess the humanitarian situation in the affected areas and evaluate the impact of the disaster.
And also they will study the actual needs of the affected people and meet them as soon as possible.
He stressed that the Authority will spare no effort to stand by its brothers in Libya.
Also it will provide all that would help alleviate the burden of the disaster on them.
