His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum chaired a cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting His Highness reviewed the achievements of the Emirati Genome Programme.
Mentioning that the Emirati Genome Programme has successfully collected more than 600,000 samples from various parts of the country so far.
Work is Underway to Expand the Emirati Genome Programme
His Highness wrote on his official account on X:
“Today I chaired a cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi…
During it, we reviewed the achievements of the Emirates Genome Council.
Where the Emirati Genome Programme succeeded in collecting more than 600,000 samples from various parts of the country so far…
Work is underway to expand its scope to reach a million.
And more than 1,000 of our medical staff have been trained to support this program…”
Emirati Genome Programme is granting comprehensive and integrated healthcare for the new generations
His Highness added:
“The contribution of more than 600,000 citizens to this program ensures the development of a clear map of genetic and hereditary diseases in the country…
It helps to develop drugs tailored to these diseases… and thus better and stronger healthcare for future generations…
We invite everyone to cooperate with this comprehensive national medical program to make our society healthier and our generations more robust.
A pilot will also be launched in the coming period for pre-marital screening to include all genetic and hereditary diseases.
The Emirates Genome Council , chaired by Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed, has made great strides in consolidating the country’s global scientific position in this field… and benefiting from this new science in developing comprehensive and integrated healthcare for the new generations.”
Accelerated economic growth
His Highness continued:
“During the meeting, we adopted the formation of a working group chaired by the Ministry of Economy.
In order to develop the Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation in the country.
And also to chart a new course for them and their role in enhancing the economy, opening markets, and building new partnerships with the world.
Enabling our local companies to enter global markets.
The accelerated economic growth in the country requires continuous structural changes to keep up with the changes.”
The UAE is one of the first countries globally in safety rates
His Highness further stated:
“We also adopted during the meeting, in the economic matter as well, the country’s commitment to the principles and recommendations of the International Code for the Protection of Tourists issued by the United Nations Tourism Organization.
It will be used as a guiding manual for our tourism institutions and applying its principles.
The UAE is one of the first countries globally in safety rates…
It leads the region and many countries in the world in international tourism…
International cooperation to provide better services for international tourism is part of our ongoing economic work.”

“During today’s cabinet meeting, we decided to assign the Ministry of Finance to represent the country and follow up on all its participations in the various working groups within the financial track of the BRICS group, which the country recently joined.
This is in cooperation and partnership with the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates
Our membership in this important global economic bloc reflects our keenness to work with everyone…

His Highness added:
We also adopted a general framework for sustainable government digital transformation.
As well as a charter for the use of artificial intelligence in the country.
So AI use will comply with the highest standards of safety and privacy and to ensure a positive and lasting impact on society.
His Highness concluded by saying:
“Today we also adopted the issuance of a federal law regarding traffic, which includes amendments to the classification of vehicles.
In addition to the employment of modern technologies on the roads to keep up with the rapid development witnessed by means of transport globally.
The new legislation keeps pace with the expansion in the use of autonomous vehicles, electric cars, and personal mobility means of various types.
It also relies on transportation means that invest in the technological advancement that characterizes the country’s road network.”
