Emirates Airline Celebrates the Launch of Emirates NBA Cup 2024
Emirates NBA Cup landed in New York yesterday, arriving on Emirates flight from before Emirates NBA Cup 2024 tournament kicks off.
EK is the official global partner of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the title sponsor of Emirates NBA Cup.
The airline transported the trophy on an A380 adorned with a custom livery bearing the NBA logo.
Last month, the airline unveiled the special NBA-branded livery.
Featuring a vibrant blue body and striking red engines and symbolizing the partnership between Emirates and the NBA.
Who Accompanied the NBA Cup ?
NBA legend James Worthy accompanied the NBA delegation carrying the cup from Dubai.
Upon arrival, the cup was presented to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and Thierry Antinori, marking the tournament’s official start.
The flight was decorated to celebrate the excitement of the NBA Cup, with basketball-themed decor throughout the cabin, from economy to first class.
Passengers on board enjoyed signature pizzas and hot snacks served in NBA-branded packaging.
As part of a menu specially crafted to honor the NBA season.
Emirates’ inflight entertainment system “ice” showed live NBA games to passengers.
Adding that selected Emirates flights will broadcast live games from the Emirates NBA Cup 2024 throughout the tournament.
Emirates Passengers Met with NBA Legend “James Worthy”
Passengers in first and business classes had a unique opportunity to connect with James Worthy in the A380’s iconic onboard lounge.
Where they enjoyed NBA-inspired snacks like sandwiches, pizza, nachos with cheese dip and popcorn.
As well as an array of pastries and cakes decorated with NBA-themed chocolate discs.
Those on flight EK201 to New York received exclusive NBA souvenirs.
Including limited-edition model planes bearing the new NBA logo, luggage tags, and NBA-branded photo frames.
Emirates NBA Cup 2024 Celebrations on Flights and at Airport Lounges
During the tournament, passengers flying to and from 13 destinations in the United States and Canada through December 17 can experience NBA-themed touches on Emirates flights.
Headrests in premium economy and economy will feature the NBA logo.
While business and premium economy passengers will enjoy custom NBA-themed drink coasters.
Additionally, NBA-inspired dishes and snacks will be served across all classes.
Along with a special NBA menu offered in the A380 onboard lounge.

Ice entertainment System Streams NBA Games
Emirates’ ice entertainment system will stream Emirates NBA Cup games live on Sport24.
It will also offer exclusive NBA playlists and Mark Tatum podcast.
Until November 22, Emirates’ lounges in Dubai, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Boston will serve NBA-themed food and drinks.
Dubai’s first-class lounge will offer signature NBA-inspired dishes like Wagyu beef burgers and pistachio éclairs.
While business lounges at Dubai International Airport will feature hot dogs, nachos, and desserts such as New York cheesecake and classic pecan pie.
Basketball fans can also purchase unique NBA-themed merchandise.
Including limited-edition replica model planes with the new NBA logo that is available in Emirates’ official store.
This brings the NBA celebration to fans worldwide.
