Significant Collaboration
The agreement signing took place at the 2024 Berlin Air Show (ILA Berlin).
This solidifies Emirates’ commitment to sustainability in the aviation sector by supporting the development and use of SAF.
Through this membership, Emirates will contribute to increase domestic SAF production in Germany.
Which is complementing several other related initiatives launched by the airline in recent months.
Active Participation
The agreement was signed by:
- Volker Greiner: Emirates’ Senior Vice President for North and Central Europe.
- Siegfried Knecht: Chairman of the Executive Board of aireg.
The signing took place in the presence of Dr. Anna Christmann, Federal Government Coordinator for German Aerospace Policy.
Since 1987
Germany is one of Emirates’ most important markets.
Emirates has served the German market since 1987.
Adding that Emirates is operating flights from Germany to Dubai using a fuel mix that includes SAF.
This contributes to their efforts to reduce carbon emissions during their participation in the Berlin Air Show.
