Emirates Group Employees set new Guinness World Record for largest yoga class by nationality
Hundreds of Emirates Group employees gathered in Dubai desert this week.
Moreover, they successfully set a new Guinness World Record for the largest yoga class by nationality.
The event was held to mark the start of the new year, saw 144 nationalities take part in the sunset challenge.
The initiative showcased the rich diversity within the Emirates Group, which employs over 110,000 people.
In addition to the UAE and neighboring countries, representatives from far-flung nations.
Such as Chile, Peru, Mexico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Honduras, Mongolia, Tonga, and the Bahamas also participated.
The first time to hold a Guinness World Record attempt in the desert.
Al Lisaili Camp hosted this event while Arabian Adventures operated it, which is one of the Emirates Group brands.
It was also the first time that a Guinness World Record attempt took place at the desert, providing a unique opportunity for participants.
The previous record was in New York City by 2023 at the United Nations Headquarters with 135 nationalities.

The event is part of our ongoing efforts to promote a culture of health within our organization.
Also it reaffirms our commitment to the well-being of all Emirates Group employees.
It will be followed by more fitness, health, and wellness activities and events throughout 2024.”

The yoga class that broke the record was led by Emirates Group employees who are also trained as yoga practitioners.
A senior counselor from the Group’s psychology unit and a certified mental health instructor also held a session.
In order to encourage the importance of mental health in the new year.
A member of the dnata travel team took to the DJ booth to provide calming music.
While another colleague played the drums to tunes often associated with meditation and healing.
Sustainable yoga mats made from biodegradable cork were provided for participants.
While everyone was also given reusable water bottles in line with Emirates Group’s commitment to organizing a waste-free event.
