Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, and Avianca, one of the largest Latin American carriers, have launched a new codeshare partnership.
The partnership allows customers of both airlines to enjoy seamless connectivity on select routes.
Emirates customers can fly directly to three points in Colombia and enjoy seamless connectivity if they are flying from Emirates’ network via Madrid, Barcelona, or London Heathrow.
They will also have other travel benefits that introduce more convenience.
Codeshare flights include Madrid to Bogotá, Medellin, or Cali; Barcelona to Bogotá; and London Heathrow to Bogotá.

Avianca will place its codes on Emirates-operated flights between Barcelona, Madrid, or London Heathrow and Dubai.
Avianca customers will travel on Emirates wide-body aircraft.
They will enjoy the premium dining and lie-flat seats in premium cabins.
In addition to an extensive inflight entertainment system with over 6,500 channels, including a wide selection of Spanish content,.
The partnership allows both airline customers to book connecting flights to various destinations within the airlines’ networks with a single ticket.
While also enjoying competitive fares and efficient baggage handling to final destinations.

On this occasion, Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates, commented:

While Claudio Villegas, Chief Revenue Officer of Avianca, expressed his pleasure with this step:
“We are pleased to launch a codeshare agreement with Emirates, which reaffirms our commitment to reaching new destinations and attracting more travelers to Latin America.”
The codeshare agreement will be effective on June 4, 2024.
This is not the first codeshare for Emirates, as it has 161 codeshare and interline agreements in place.
