Information about the Fly Emirates

The Emirates story started in 1985 when we launched operations with only two planes. Today, we fly with the world’s largest air fleets of Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s. In addition,  providing our customers with the amenities of the latest and most efficient wide-body aircraft in the air.

We inspire travellers around the world with our growing network of destinations around the world through our leadership in the atmospheric entertainment industry, regionally inspired dishes and world-class service.

History

The story of a company whose success – which can only be said to be wow – intersects with the astounding development of Dubai. As well as, against the backdrop of regional turmoil and a volatile global economy, progress has been maintained at a rapid pace every year from the presence of Emirates and dnata. In addition, a combination of business acumen, sophistication, and ambitious investment led to a host of events and events that drove Emirates and dnata to put them among the most respected and recognized brands in the world.

A new airline was born

In the year 1984, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates. Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai may God bless him, Mr Maurice Flanagan. Who was the administrative director of the National Air Transport Association of Dubai (dnata). Then considered the establishment of an airline And His Highness. Establishing new standards

Emirates is a pioneer in the field of air entertainment, as it was the first airline to install video systems in all seats, and in all classes of travel on all its planes.

The new building at Dubai International Airport

In 1992, Dubai International Airport underwent a complete refurbishment, moving the Emirates Airlines offices to a new departure building of $2 million.

A pioneer in on-board communications

Emirates Airlines becomes the first airline to offer a three-way air travel service on Airbus.

Airport Terminal 2 opens at Dubai International Airport

The new Terminal 2 opened at Dubai International Airport, increasing the capacity of the airport by two million passengers annually.

Dubai’s growth as a hub for aviation

The number of arrivals to Dubai International Airport exceeded the barrier of 11 million passengers. So, in the fiscal year (1999-2000), Emirates Airlines carried 4.7 million passengers in its fleet of 32 aircraft.

An airport building was opened in the name of Sheikh Rashid

With the opening of the Sheikh Rashid Building, the capacity of Dubai International Airport increases to 22 million passengers annually.

The first airline to apply for the Airbus A380

Emirates has become the first airline to apply for Airbus A380s by ordering seven of them with the option to purchase five additional aircraft, at the Farnborough Airshow. As well as, The world’s largest commercial airliner will become the leader in the Emirates fleet for the next two decades.

The £ 100m deal with Arsenal

Fly Emirates Airlines signs a £100 million deal with Arsenal Football Club. The deal includes naming rights for its new stadium for 15 years. In addition to sponsoring the player’s shirt for eight years, starting from the 2006-2007 season.

This partnership renewed twice in 2012 and 2018. In order to become the longest-running short sponsorship partnership in the English Premier League. In addition, One of the longest periods of global sports cooperation.

Boeing 777’s largest order in history

Emirates Airlines entered history after ordering 42 Boeing 777 aircraft in a deal valued at $9.7 billion. This was the largest purchase order for Boeing 777s ever. Today, Emirates is the largest operator of the 777 aircraft.

Emirates Aircraft Catering Company starts operations at its new facility, which cost $120 million at Dubai International Airport.

Building 3 of Emirates Airlines opens at Dubai International Airport

Terminal 3 dedicated to Emirates Airlines witnessed the departure of 500,000 passengers from the facility during the first month of operation.

World record crash

More than 540 volunteer passengers of 145 nationalities set out on Emirates Airlines flight EK2019. As well as, Shattering the Guinness World Record for the largest number of nationalities on a single flight. So, The historic A380 flight launched to celebrate the National Day of the United Arab Emirates and the Year of Tolerance. Eventually, It showcases the diversity and harmony between citizens and residents of the United Arab Emirates and their unity.
