Emirates Airline Will Receive 300, 000 Gallon of Sustainable Aviation Fuel from Shell Aviation.
Emirates airline has signed an agreement with Shell Aviation in order to supply over 300,000 gallons of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Which its hub in Dubai will use it.
Moreover, the first shipment delivery is expected to be before the end of this year.
Mentioning that it is the first time that Dubai International Airport will have SAF pumped into its fuel system.
In fact, the agreement with Shell is the latest step in Emirates Airline environmental strategy.
In which it is focusing on reducing emissions, responsible consumption, and conserving wildlife and habitats.
Avelia to Track the delivery and usage of SAF in the UAE.
Emirates Airline will track the delivery and usage data of the SAF using Avelia.
Avelia is one of the world’s first blockchain-based SAF solutions operated by Shell Aviation and Accenture.
And supported by Energy Web and American Express Global Business Travel.
In addition, Emirates will purchase the SAF through Avelia.
As well as the environmental attributes associated with the fuel to help decarbonize Scope 1 emissions.
while Shell Corporate Travel will purchase the Scope 3 environmental attributes associated with the same fuel to help decarbonize its travel footprint.
The Cooperation between Emirates Airline and Shell Aviation, a new development to provide SAF in the UAE.
Emirates airline hopes that this cooperation will develop to provide continued future supplies at its hub.
Because currently no SAF production facilities are available in the UAE.
The airline is also involved in a number of UAE industry and government working groups.
Alongside ongoing engagements to help scale up the production and supply of SAF.
Overall, the agreement is a positive step forward for the aviation industry in the UAE.
It does also demonstrate Emirates airline commitment to reduce its environmental impact.
